Executive director Ricky Tan Soo Huat said the company was getting ready to begin commercial production of paper-based exhibition display booths at its plant in the Prai industrial estate.

He told StarBiz the use of paper-based exhibition booths had become very popular in Europe in recent years because they could be customised and cost less than booths made of wood and aluminium.

“Because they can be customised, paper-based exhibition booths also give the exhibition hall a creative interior look, compared with those made of wood and aluminium, which take longer to install and tear down, as well as make all exhibition halls look alike,'' he said.

Tan said PPHB’s competitive edge was that it had the facilities and capabilities to serve as a designer, manufacturer and installer for the paper-based exhibition booths.

“ We also have the capability to support our customer needs for overseas exhibitions.”

Tan said the group’s other new paper product was the paper-based pallet.

“Most countries now require wooden pallets entering a foreign country to undergo fumigation, which adds to a company’s logistic handling charges. The paper-based pallet is designed to suit the different racking systems of overseas countries,'' he said.

Tan said the group would be taking part in international exhibitions held locally and overseas to promote its paper-based exhibition booths and paper-based pallet
