BELEAGUERED pallet manufacturer Pinetec has been bought by Melbourne-based Rodpak, which says it is considering the future employment prospects of Pinetec’s pallet making workers.
The workers at Pinetec’s pallet manufacturing operations were working on a casual basis due to its difficulties.
Rodpak says it did not buy Pinetec’s sawmill operation, and it has not yet decided whether to centralise Pinetec’s pallet manufacturing business. Rodpak also says it is considering employing the workers on a full-time basis.
However, the company will not be making any decisions until the sale is finalised three weeks from now.
