2008-08-28 Logopak installs two pallet labelling machines (Simeon Goldstein, packagingnews.co.uk)

Logopak, the print and apply labelling specialist, has installed two 920DK machines at soft drink manufacturer AG Barr's plant in Glasgow.

The Cumbernauld facility has placed the two machines in its newly commissioned warehouse to deal with increased production levels. The labels are used to identify pallets to ensure correct timing of deliveries.

The machines will work at a joint station to process 200 pallets an hour, each pallet being identified by two GS1/A5 with barcodes.

Logopak UK general manager said the "intrinsic high speed" of the machines would "prevent any risk of a surge in production creating a queue".

The York-based firm has also installed a 920PF pallet labeller at AG Barr's Mansfield site, updating an older version of the machine which has been moved to the Strathmore Springs water bottling plant in Scotland.
